For decades, college and university administrators have engaged with students in traditional ways - phone calls, emails, in-person school visits, campus tours, interviews, etc.
In a recent survey of college students, Unit4 found that the vast majority (87 percent) of students would find it useful to have an app detailing their current degree progress.
A Study showed that 90% of our time on mobile is spent on email and messaging platforms, while 90% of text messages are read within 3 minutes of delivery. That’s the kind of instant and complete penetration that email, intranets and magazines can only dream of.
Therefore, the project’s goal is to help streamline the students’, teachers’ and staff’s affairs and services in universities, by simply chatting with a chatbot on platforms like Skype and Messenger.
Hence, the project revolves around developing a chatbot which will act as an intelligent educational assistant greatly enhancing their overall university experience.
I have co-supervised the senior project towards MVP, accessible on Facebook here.
The project has been featured by the president of the Antonine University and in a newspaper here.
The objective is to turn the senior project into a startup.
